Fun4Kidz 3rd Annual Holiday Cocktail Party and Toy Drive
Coral Gables, Florida (December 13, 2007) – Fun4Kidz hosted its third annual cocktail party and toy drive in downtown Coral Gables on December 13, 2007. The organization enjoyed a great turnout on the rooftop terrace of the Wachovia building, where guests mingled and enjoyed hors d'oeuvres. All attendees donated toys that will later be given to children at a homeless shelter during the holiday season.
Tiombé flew to Miami earlier that day so she could attend the function and show her support for the organization. Joining her in attendance was 2004 Olympic 100 meters silver medalist Lauryn Williams, a University of Miami graduate and Miami resident. As a fellow sponsor athlete for Fun4Kidz, Williams has been very generous with her time and financial support of the organization. There was also a lot of support from members of the local community.
Created by young post-collegiate students, Fun4Kidz aims to enable children of disadvantaged South Florida families to enjoy the privileges that many other children experience. Fun4Kidz plans to host bi-annual special events, such as athletic clinics and carnivals, to reward under-privileged children for believing in their dreams. Other professional althletes such as Arizona Cardinals player Antrel Rolle are also showing there support and have agreed to participate in these special events each year.
