Tiombe was a special guest at the Mason High School Invitational held at George Mason University on December 9th. Tiombe, along with Olympic 110 hurdles champion Allen Johnson, heptathlon world record holder Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and star miler Alan Webb, were all in attendance to support the high schoolers and hand out awards. All of the special guests have ties to the DC-Metro area. Hurd and Webb both train part-time at George Mason University, Johnson attended nearby Lake Braddock High School as a teenager, and Kersee visits the area on occasion with her Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation.
